In these times of pandemic, there is much talk about taking care of yourself. Take care of the health of your family, take care of the environments in which we live, restrict unnecessary exits from home and everything that could put us at risk of contagion or danger. However, we must bear in mind that the most important thing is to start taking care of ourselves. Perhaps during our early years we are not very concerned with this essential aspect of life, since, in general, we have the care that our parents give us; But as we grow, as we become more self-reliant, we depend on ourselves to be well. And being well means: being physically and mentally healthy, having the love of a family, having trusted friends, going to places that are safe to learn, have fun, and live our faith.
Taking care of ourselves also implies physical, mental and spiritual health. When you really care about yourself, you will ensure that you eat healthy, exercise physically, get enough rest, establish healthy relationships, and know and live your faith. Sometimes we are so busy that we forget to take care of the only person who will accompany us throughout life: ourselves. Therefore, it is essential to take care of yourself in order to take care of others.
