Among the various ministries carried out by the lay faithful in relation to the Holy Mass, in our community of Saint Matthew, are those in charge of arranging everything necessary for a dignified and fruitful celebration of the sacrament of the Eucharist.
That is, those who carry out the service of preparing and disposing, clean and in order, each one of the sacred objects that are required, according to the liturgical norms of the Church, to celebrate the central sacrament of our life and our faith.
These brothers and sisters have the care and delicacy to treat the sacred vessels: Chalice, ciborium, paten, etc. As well as the sacred linens: tablecloths, corporals, purifiers, etc. Also, the species of bread and wine, water, etc., and others such as candles, candlesticks, books, and cruets.
Once the celebration is over: they collect, clean, and protect everything in the Sacristy.
We must value and be grateful for this service to God and the community, as it is a humble and discreet but indispensable and valuable ministry.
