In the language of faith, repentance implies becoming aware of what has been done wrong and the determination to correct it. It also requires the will to change and rectify our behavior by clarifying our criteria and way of thinking. In other words, straighten the course and get back on the right track.
Our human nature, damaged by sin, continually leads us to stray from God's ways. Our reaction should be to return to the correct path, the one that God indicates to us in his revealed Word and to adapt our will to the divine will as we ask in the Our Father prayer.
In this Lent the Church proposes that we intensify our prayer and listening to the Word of God that sensitizes us and disposes us to an attitude of constant conversion to return to the correct path.
