The precept of the Church obliges us to attend and participate in Sunday Mass, to sanctify the Lord's Day, because Sunday is the day of the Resurrection of Christ who is made present in the heart of the ecclesial community. As baptized persons, members of the mystical body of Christ, we participate in the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus who offers himself to the Father.
Mass on a Sunday is different from Mass on weekdays. If you can't attend on Sunday for a serious reason, then you are under no obligation to make up for it by going another weekday, but it is always of great spiritual benefit not to let too much time go by without feeding on the Word of God and the Eucharistic Bread. And certainly, Masses celebrated from Monday to Saturday will do us much good. But, beyond complying or not complying with the precept, we must participate with devotion and conviction. Your priest confessor may dispense the Sunday obligation to you if you have any reasonable impediment and may ask you to attend another day instead of dispensing it completely.
It is important to see the spirit of the Sunday precept and not stay in the cold letter of the law.
