Lenten Time, One does not live on bread alone

P. Tarcisio

Can you eat meat? What does fasting consist of? What are charities? What happens if I don't go to Mass on Ash Wednesday? Do I have to confess? Why substitute meat with fish?

These and many other questions we Christians ask ourselves when the season of Lent arrives. The liturgy invites us

to live it as a time of sacrifice, of fasting, of personal conversion, of preparation for Easter. But there are things that are not clear to us because circumstances have changed; such as how to fast, how to give alms, how to understand conversion, participation in the sacraments... and, unfortunately, our pace of life does not give us the opportunity to think about so many things.

Spiritual food is as necessary as material food. It is time to nourish our spirit, it is time to become better people, better Christians... and thus prepare ourselves to celebrate the feast of Easter, the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
