In the Church, there has always been the study of the religious and liturgical character of singing and music within the celebrations through musicians, mariachis, and choirs.
The importance of singing in the church arises from the Bible. The first mention of singing is found after the passage of the Red Sea. The people's reaction to the event of salvation was "They sang this song to Yahweh..." (Ex 15,1).
Also, in the celebration of Easter night (Holy Saturday), we continue to sing this song year after year because we also feel saved.
Singing is the new language that proceeds from the Holy Spirit. Christ and the Spirit are inseparable, so inspired songs necessarily lead us to Christ who has given us the Spirit, allowing us to address God as Father.
