According to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Domingo de Guzmán in 1208 in a chapel of the Prouilhe Monastery (France), with a "Rosary" in her hands that taught him to pray and gave it to him to promote it. Over time, it was spread the prayer of the rosary to contemplate the mysteries of Christ under the protection of Mary.
This Christological prayer, meditated and contemplated with Mary, contains in itself all the mysteries of the life of Jesus, who, as one of many, lived joy and splendor, suffering and death, but, above all, the glory of the resurrection. Mysteries that Mary made her own in her heart and gives us an example to unite with her Son.
