"What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" — "where are you staying?"
He said to them,
"Come, and you will see."
The vocation of Samuel in the Old Testament, like the vocation of the first disciples of Jesus in the New Testament, are a type and model of our own vocation and consecration to Christ since our baptism.
Christ, who calls us to follow him to learn his way and style of life, transforms us and configures us to Him. He gives us a new identity and name that consecrates us totally to God. He thus restores and reintegrates our dignity. We are new creatures and temples of God, since we have received the Spirit from him and he dwells in us. This is what Saint Paul teaches us in 1st. Letter to the Corinthians that we heard this Sunday.
