“Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent me,
so I send you”.
SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER TIME.
Sunday is the day of the resurrection and it is the day of Christ's disciples gathered in his name.
He, the Risen One, makes himself present in their midst, fulfilling his promises. He only deprives himself of that presence of grace, who voluntarily isolates himself from the community of believers... and, the longer he takes to reintegrate, the more his faith weakens and makes it more difficult to believe again.
Today's three readings insist that the saving action of Christ is prolonged and actualized in his envoys who continue to meet, act in his name and create new communities of faith so that, living in community, we all believe that Jesus is the Messiah and therefore He we have eternal life.
