The Most Holy Body And Blood of Christ
In the first reading, God gave his needy people manna from heaven to eat and water from the rock to drink, so they could march toward the promised land. However, beyond material food, the people needed spiritual food to renew their faith and confidence in the promise of reaching that promised land, because in the midst of lack and difficulties it is easy to lose hope.
Today God gives us the Eucharist, on our way to him. We know that the Mass is the Sacrament in which we participate most frequently. It is during the mass that we pray, we give thanks, we ask; and we also listen to the reading of the Bible, we go to meet our parish community, we do an examination of conscience and, above all, we feed ourselves with the Body and Blood of Christ.
Let us therefore participate with dignity in this sacrament of the mass or Eucharist. Let us not waste the opportunity to feed ourselves with his Word and with his Body and Blood, in order to be strong and committed Christians. So as not to be discouraged by the fatigues of life.
