Christ King of the Universe.
On the last Sunday of the liturgical year we celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the King of the Universe. The empire and sovereignty of Christ was recognized with this feast since 1925, as it confirmed the propagation of the pious practice of dedicating and consecrating families to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, as well as entire cities and nations.
Today Saint Luke presents us (Gospel) the image of Christ on the Cross with the inscription that presents him as King of the Jews. Certainly there were reasons for him to aspire to that title, because he was a descendant of King David as the prophet Samuel says (First reading), but Christ is much more than the King of the Jews, since Saint Paul affirms (Second reading) that he is the image of the invisible God and firstborn of creatures, head of the Church, who has established peace through his cross. By the grace of God, we have been brought out of darkness and transferred to the Kingdom of His Beloved Son. Let us fight and work to continue establishing in our world the values and principles of the Kingdom of Christ.
