Saint Luke in the Gospel tells us what happened with Zacchaeus to remind us once again of the special love that Jesus has for sinners. Jesus does not reject Zacchaeus for his sins, but inspires him to repent and change his life. And as the Old Testament says in the book of Wisdom: Divine mercy closes its eyes so as not to see the sins of men and thus give them the opportunity to repent. Many times, sinners are better disposed than others to receive salvation. And Saint Paul invites us to take advantage of the time that God allows us so that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ acts in us, correcting us little by little, since he is slow to get angry and generous to forgive, as Psalm 145 says.
