Catechesis is an essential ministry in our community of Saint Matthew’s Church. It is the concrete response to Jesus' mandate: "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation" (Mk 16,15). This mandate of Christ calls each one of us to proclaim the Good News of Jesus and to transmit his message to future generations by professing, living and celebrating our faith.
In our community, we offer two courses a year for classes that allow children, youth and adults to learn the essential truths of the Christian faith and prepare them to receive the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Communion, Confirmation, Confession.
For this ministry of catechesis we have the valuable participation of the catechists, who dedicate part of their time to share their experience of faith in the classroom with the students. Let us pray for them and for the children, young people and adults who are about to start this new catechetical course in our community of Saint Matthew
