Time of Vacation in Family and with God

We have reached the middle of this year, and along with this comes the vacation period, a gift from God and an opportunity that helps us strengthen the body and spirit. Families have the opportunity to rest, live together more, but, above all, they have the opportunity to improve.

The Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church (#258) teaches us that “For man, bound as he is to the necessity of work, this rest opens to the prospect of a fuller freedom, that of the eternal Sabbath. (...) Rest gives men and women the possibility to remember and experience anew God's work, from Creation to Redemption, to recognize themselves as his work, and to give thanks for their lives and for their subsistence to him who is their author. (...)”.

When Jesus visited the house of Lazarus, Mary sat at Jesus' feet to listen to his teachings. He tells Martha that Mary has chosen the better part (Luke 10: 38-42). Something very important that this passage teaches us is that one of the best ways to take advantage of our time is dedicating it to our relationship with God and letting Him accompany us and teach us to be better people.
