What does God’s tell us this Sunday? 1st Sunday of the Advent, December 1st, 2024

Fr. Tarcisio

With this Sunday we begin to prepare for the birth of Jesus, we lit the first candle of the Advent wreath and the light begins to dispel the darkness of our lives. Once again, we will celebrate that Jesus came to the world more than two thousand years ago and in the midst of so much bad news, wars and disasters, his presence reassures us by saying that we should keep our expectations and our hope high, because he is still with us and close to us.

Every year, Christmas time is special, it is different from other Christmases already past and lived. What does this year have in store for you? What can make this Christmas different? Where do you hope to find Jesus alive and present? And if this were our last Christmas in this world, how would you like to live it? Let us go then, with our eyes set high, trusting in the beautiful message of hope that Jesus brings us in the midst of so much darkness that covers our world.
