SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
This second Sunday of Ordinary Time is still related to the Epiphany of the Lord. The Gospel highlights the manifestation of Jesus in the first sign (miracle) he performs at the beginning of his mission in Cana of Galilee, where he was invited to a wedding together with Mary his mother.
Beyond the strictly religious, Jesus' attitude at the wedding is undoubtedly a blessing. Human love is something beautiful and willed by God. The sign of turning water into wine is an anticipation that announces the capacity and strength of Jesus and his gospel.
We are given a key to grasping the newness that Christ brings to humanity: a transforming action that is leaven of life, joy and gladness. And it tells us, at the same time, how we Christians must influence our society to bring human realities to their fullness.
Let us do what He tells us!
