SUNDAY OF THE WORD OF GOD

In the introduction to the Gospel of Luke, we have a key to understanding how the gospels were written, what Jesus did and taught. All those things that the first disciples of Jesus saw and Heard, and that were later written down so that the following generations would know and live according to what He taught us.

The first reading tells us about the people of Israel, who regain hope and faith upon hearing the Word of God, upon feeling identified again with the promises made in the past, by the covenant of a God who promised to always be with them and would not abandon them.

In light of these biblical texts, we can also ask ourselves: How important is the Bible, the word of God for us? Do we know the Bible, do we read it? What prevents us from reading it more frequently?
