What does God’s tell us this Sunday? January 5th, 2025

Reyes magos

THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD

Our faith cannot be lived alone in a purely individual way. Our faith presupposes a relationship with God and with our neighbors. God relates to man and makes himself known, that is, he reveals his being and his plan of salvation.

The human being responds to God and collaborates with his plan. Throughout human history, God has manifested the people of Israel and then, when he reached the fullness of time, the whole world, through his beloved Son: Jesus Christ.

This manifestation of God to humanity is represented by the Magi who came from distant lands to adore God made visible in his Son born of Mary.

The pagan peoples set out on their way to Christ, born in Bethlehem. From distant lands, they were guided by a star that marked their way. They took a chance on finding someone truly great.

When they met Jesus, they recognized that He is God, since they fell down and worshipped Him.

Like those men, let us take the risk of finding God in our lives.
