What does God’s tell us this Sunday?November 17th, XXXIII Sunday in Ordinary Time

Fr. Tarcisio

See the Signs of the Coming of the Lord

Today’s readings speak to us of difficult days, times of persecution, destruction and anguish. Some parts of the Bible, like today’s readings, speak of calamities and disasters, as signs of an old world that is ending and passing away, but at the same time giving way to something new.

Of course, it is scary to hear that all these things will happen, but the same reading of today’s gospel tells us that only God knows when and how they will happen. Certainly, everything that happens around the world may seem worrying to us, but today's message also tells us that Christ, resurrected, is among us, and makes us walk with hope, towards something new.

All that scares us and that is happening in our time must serve as a sign for conversion. To take seriously our way of living, according to the teaching of Jesus.
