The apostles contemplated that wonderful spectacle that left them entranced, and Peter said to Jesus: "Lord, how good it would be to stay here!" Because when a Christian lives an extraordinary religious experience, a special encounter with the Lord in a time of prayer, he feels the desire to prolong the experience.
If we persevere in faith, listening to the Word and striving to put it into practice, we will gradually have an experience of transfiguration throughout our lives and we will be contemplating more and more the divinity of our Redeemer.
