What does the Word of God tell us this Sunday? May 14th, 2023

sandraalvaradocsm

The Lord Jesus, knowing of his final departure to the Father, promises not to leave us orphans. He announces to us the sending of the Defender, the Spirit of truth that will impel all those who love the Lord and, that keeping his commandments will be able to give reason for his hope in Christ.

The Holy Spirit is given to us in our baptism and in our confirmation, it is the same Spirit that the Samaritans received by listening to and approving the preaching of Philip: "They prayed for those who had converted, that they might receive the Holy Spirit" (Acts 8, 6).

The Holy Spirit is strength, light, love, truth, life, and company, frees those who let themselves be guided by Him from all evil. From the moment of baptism, the Spirit of Truth will lead the believer to carry out God's project Father through his Son Jesus Christ.
