"Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits".
Just as Jesus was sent by the Father, so he also sends his disciples, and he sends us today. The disciples of Christ, before being sent, first had to be with him and listen to him. They must carry little luggage (walking stick and sandals), live simply, doing good and freeing people from all evil.
To be a disciple is to always be on the road, in motion, in service. If we fail, let the Lord encourage us to move on. To fulfill this mission, we must soak up the living Word through personal contact with Jesus Christ. We must come back again and again to be with him.
Let us always trust in Christ because he has sent us. Let us continue the mission, without stopping. Our faith is like the walking stick that sustains us and our perseverance like the sandals or shoes we wear to continue advancing with a firm step and trusting in God. Cheer up! He sends us and sustains us.
